Tall Ships Races 2019

In the summer of 2019 the Tall Ships Races will start in Aalborg. From there a fleet of international Tall and Small Ships will sail to Fredrikstad in an exciting race across a number of waypoints. Afterwards the Ships will enjoy a more relaxed Cruise-in-Company leg along the coast of Norway to Bergen. Finally, they will embark on the final race back from Bergen to Aarhus in Denmark.

The four host ports have previously hosted The Tall Ships Races with big successes

Aalborg has already hosted the Tall Ships Races four times before, with the first being in 1999 so it will be the 20th anniversary of the fleet’s first visit. They are already planning the event in order to make sure that the Tall Ships Races 2019 will be an even greater success than the last Tall Ships Races in Aalborg in 2015.

Fredrikstad is a real sail training port with a lot of maritime cultural heritage and shipping traditions. Here the fleet will be challenged in sailing through the magnificent archipelago in the Outer Oslo Fjord.

Bergen is UNESCO World Heritage City as well as the gateway to the fjords of Norway. Bergen is really important for the maritime industry. The city has hosted the Tall Ships Races four times before! Many trainees have made fantastic memories here the last time in 2014. Now the city will try their best to make the Races in 2019 an unforgettable experience.

Aarhus has a long maritime history which dates back to the Vikings! The city has hosted the Tall Ships Races two times before. The unique Bay of Aarhus and the new urban harbour areas will make a wonderful setting for the Tall Ships Races in 2019. Aarhus wants to repeat the festivities and the great success of the previous time in 2013, but with a twist!
