Alexander von Humboldt II:
Sal (CV) - Marigot (FR)

12 January - 04 February 2017

Join the Alexander von Humboldt for an oceancrossing from the Cape Verds to Marigot at Saint Martin. On board you participate in the daily working of the ship alongside professional seamen, standing lookout, manning the helm, helping in the galley, hoisting sail and voluntarily have the chance to climb the rigging/mast. A perfect voyage of 24 days! Language on board German and English. Open to all ages, minimum age 14 years.

Ports

Sal is one of the three sandy eastern islands of the Cape Verde archipelago, together with Boa Vista and Maio. The island is a dream destination for windsurfing enthusiasts, due to its sandy beaches and persistent winds. Tourism is on the rise in Cape Verde, but outside of the beach resort of Santa Maria the island retains its relaxed feel. Explore the quiet streets with their brightly colored houses, the blue eye cave, and the saline flats. The sun shines 350 days a year, so bring sunscreen!

Marigot is the main city of the French part of Saint Martin island in the Caribbean. Climb up to Fort Louis if you like history or hike the Paradise Peak if you're more of a nature lover. For a little tasto of local culture visit the Museum of Saint Martin and Roland Richardson Art Gallery. Spend a relaxing afternoon on one of the beautiful beaches and enjoy all kinds of watersports.
