From Sao Vicente the journey will begin the Atlantic crossing from Cape Verde archipelago on to Brazil. The trade winds take us across for an approximately 2.5 week long voyage. The rhythm of the ocean determines our life on board. You sail through the doldrums, where you can also encounter sudden downpours followed by the calms. During such a downpour you’ll have the chance to wash your hair with fresh water. Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

São Vicente is one of the Cape Verde islands, located off of the west coast of Africa. The island has a rare dry tropical climate, with temperatures around 25 degrees Celsius year-round. The warm ocean waters and the persistent winds make for great (wind)surfing conditions. Go horseback riding or explore the mountainous island, play a round of golf at the excellent 18-hole golf course, or relax in one of the small bars around the harbor.

Salvador da Bahia in Brazil used to be the colonial capital, and is one of the oldest cities in the Americas. Today it is a lively place with 3.5 million inhabitants, noted for its cuisine, music, and architecture. Around Salvador you can go swimming, sailing, diving, surfing, and underwater fishing in the bays and inlets. But don’t forget to visit both the High City and the Low City, as they offer shopping, parks, and entertainment for locals and seafaring visitors alike.
