Christian Radich:
Haugesund (NO) - Skudeneshavn (NO) - Oslo (NO)

13 August - 17 August 2017

The voyage towards Oslo will take you along the south coast, rich with history from the time when the windjammers ruled the sea. But first we will do a fjordcruise from the Jazzfestival in Haugesund to the charming city Skudeneshavn. We will also invite local passengers on this cruise. In Skudenesnavn our trainees will go ashore for a guided tour, while the locals are having a fjordcruise. Next day we set sail for Oslo along a coast full of history. But first and foremost, we hope for good winds and to sail as much as possible. Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years. (Age 12-15 accompanied by an adult). Prenight in Haugesund possible – 60 EUR (B&B).

Ports

Haugesund is a town and municipality in Rogaland county, Norway with a history of herring fishing. The town is surrounded by several parks and recreational areas, perfect for getting a taste of Norway's nature. Visit the Nordvegen History Centre and Viking Settlement open-air museum and learn about the fascinating history of Vikings. Go to the Karmsund Folkemuseum and take a walk along the Haraldsgata street for a real feel of this small town's life.

Visit Oslo and experience its rich cultural life. The 1000-year-old Norwegian capital sits at the head of Oslo Fjord. This stunning setting gives hints of the wild wonders that lie just beyond the city. From taking in visual delights at Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Ship Museum, the Munch Museum and Holmenkollen, to the new Nobel Peace Centre and the Holocoust Centre, Oslo offers plenty of food for thought. Did you know that Oslo is a forerunner on sustainability and environmental policy?
