Eendracht:
Rotterdam (NL) - Rotterdam (NL)

10 August - 12 August 2018

Have a short break from work this summer and spend a sailing weekend on board of a three-masted schooner. Step aboard Friday morning in the Eendracht’s home port of Rotterdam. After introductions and instructions you will put op the sails with and leave the port. You will work in a watch system where you will be “4 hours on and 8 hours off” rotating on board. During the watch, you are actively working on the sails, steering or other chores on board. Outside the watch there’s plenty of time to relax and enjoy the sea! Sailing experience is not necessary as the crew will guide you through everything. This is actually a perfect short trip for newbies who want to figure out if sailing is for them. On Sunday, at the end of the day you disembark in the port of Rotterdam. Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years. You’ll be sleeping in 4 person cabins. Places in double cabins available for a surcharge of 19,50 euro p.p. per night.

Ports

Rotterdam is the largest port of Europe, and a modern, bustling town. Much of the historic city centre was destroyed during World War II, but extensive rebuilding resulted in a modern, multicultural city with many architectural highlights. Rotterdam has excellent cultural facilities and a diverse nightlife; during the summer the city hosts a large number of events. Discover the city by bicycle and go for a coffee in Hotel New York, the former headquarters of the Holland America Line.
