Gulden Leeuw:
Sirevag (NO) - Tanager (NO) - Stavanger (NO)

24 July - 27 July 2018

Join the Gulden Leeuw in Sirevag for a short sightseeing tour of the Norwegian coast. You will get on board around 16:00 and leave the port a few hours later. After sailing overnight, you will reach Tanager, many sailors’ favourite port in the area. Go for a walk to the old pilot lookout hut and enjoy a nice view over the coastline or visit a fishing museum. You can also enjoy some downtime in a local restaurant or a pub. The Ship will spend the night in Tanager and early the next morning you will set course for Stavanger. There you will have the time to enjoy the Tall Ships Festival before disembarking the following morning. Alternatively you could join this trip in other ports along the way – see other journeys. Open for all Windseekers aged 15 and older. If you’d like to disembark in Tanager instead, please contact us at info@windseeker.org

Ports

Sirevag is a small village in Norwegian Rogaland county. Although home to only 500 inhabitants, its fishing harbour is quite busy, with shrimp harvesting and fishing the main sources of income. Take a walk and discover the beautiful surroundings of a Norwegian fishing village.

Stavanger is a modern port, but retains a small historic district. The lovely old harbour is a favourite stopover for big cruiseships that tower over the buildings. The city has a lively cultural scene, and is surrounded by numerous outdoor destinations well worth a visit. Explore the narrow, rocky Lysefjord and the mountains Preikestolen and Kjerag, or relax on Jæren's beaches. Make sure to bring hiking boots, as the mountains stand over 1000 meters tall.
