Join the Royal Helena in her homeport in Varna, Bulgaria and embark on a beautiful journey across the Mediterranean Sea, all the way to Lisbon, Portugal. Sail between the coasts of North Africa and South Europe, cross the Gibraltar Strait and set course for North, up the Portugese coast to Lisbon – a city of Fado and long maritime traidtions. You can book a berth in a double LUX cabin for €1,180. Open to Windseekers of 15 years and older.

Ports

Varna is Bulgaria's biggest city on the Black Sea coast and a popular tourist destination, university center and port. The famous necropolis belonging to the Varna Culture is dated to 5 000 years bc. With such long hisotry it's no wonder the city is full of museums, including Varna Archaeological Museum founded in 1888, Naval Museum and Natural History Museum. Once your head gets full of history, you can relax on beautiful sandy beach or take a refreshing stroll in the Primorski Park.

Lisbon has a long and varied history as a major trading hub, much of which is still visible in the old city centre. Discover Alfama, the old quarters with its many old alleys, steps and the Lisbon Cathedral. The famous tram line 28 will get you there – an experience in and of itself. And be sure to check out a fado concert if you want to learn about saudade – loss, yearning and comfort, all rolled into one. Emotions that all seafarers will get to know one way or the other…
