Southampton (GB) - Dartmouth (GB)

25 August - 31 August 2018

* FULLY BOOKED * A week-long coastal sailing trip. Join the Tenacious in her hometown of Southampton and set course for the horizon. Weather permitting, you will cross the English Channel towards France or the Channel Islands, before sailing back towards the South West England. Entering the River Dart you will be able to admire two castles on each side – Dartmouth Castle and Kingswear Castle. You will arrive in Dartmouth in time to catch the 2018 Royal Regatta event. Open to all able-bodied and disabled trainees, minimum age 16 years.

Ports

Southampton, on the shores of the Solent, is the largest port of England. The bustling town offers plenty of distractions, and is known (sometimes reviled) for its brutalist architecture. However, the city hosts a number of fine museums, the Tudor House, and long stretches of medieval walls. Also, the beautiful English countryside is just a short drive away. The yearly Southampton boat show in september should be on any Windseeker's calendar. And don't forget to visit the Isle of Wight!

Dartmouth is a town in Devon, South West England and a famous deep water-port. With its rich history dating back to the 12th century, Dartmouth is a very picturesque town. You can visit one of the medieval castles standing guard on the River Dart, take a stroll through one of the beautiful gardens, get active in a national park or chill on the beach.
