An awe-inspiring trip with high chances of favourable winds, and including the sailing parade in Cadiz. Delight in lovely weather and proper sailing on the Atlantic Ocean during this voyage. Join Atyla in Cadiz, south of Spain, to sail over 700 nautical miles along the coast of Africa towards Canary Islands. Spend several days at sea, learning to sail a traditional Tall Ship and enjoying the feeling of being out in nature. With no wi-fi or cellphone reception you can leave your daily worries behind and focus on sailing, admiring the ocean and making new friends. Depending on the weather/time you might stop by in Lanzarote, before making your way to the final destination – the impressive Tenerife. Flexible disembarkation day means that you can leave the Ship on the 19th or the 20th of September. Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years. Covid-related conditions: most likely everyone will be asked to take an antigen test before boarding the Ship. You will receive the details shortly before your trip starts in order to ensure we are complying with the latest official guidelines. Sail as a trainee for a full Tall Ship experience and participate in all activities on board as part of the (trainee) crew. Or join as a guest and choose which activities you want to take part in.
The oldest city in Spain, with a wealth of historic landmarks. Water is never far away, as the old town is built on a narrow stretch of land jutting out into the Mediterranean Sea. Get lost in the Old town with its many narrow, winding streets and visit one of the many parks that dot the city. Its many cathedrals and plazas are also well worth a visit. Go to La Caleta beach, at La Viña, the old fisherman quarter. Go catch a Flamenco concert and feast your taste buds with the fresh sea foods.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the shared capital of the Canary Islands, together with Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The central square Plaza de España is a real eye-catcher, situated between the ocean and the old, bustling city centre. Lose yourself in the crowded alleys, find a spot on one of the terraces, or leave town and discover the rugged volcanic landscape. The museum of Nature and Man is worth a visit. Chances are you’ll find pilot whales in the waters around Tenerife, so keep an eye out!

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.
What does it mean?
In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
