*Fully booked* The Tall Ships Races 2021, Race 1. Join the first leg of this year’s Races in the Baltic and discover new intercultural relations, the marvellous archipelago of Turku, and the exciting challenges of sailing on board the Atyla! Step on board in Klaipeda, Lithuania, and spend the evening getting familiar with the ship and crew. Next morning you will leave in a Parade of Sails to embark on a journey to Finland. Race dozens of other vessels over 250 nautical miles of the open sea and learn new things about yourself along the way. Reach Turku on the 5th of July, with just enough time to enjoy the Tall Ships festival in town. Join crew-exclusive events, such as award ceremony, Crew Parade, and of course the long-awaited Crew Party! Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Programme Outline

Ports

Klaipéda is a city in Lithuania on the Baltic Sea coast. The city has long maritime traditions – it even hosts its own Sea Festival in July! – and its architecture bears influences from several different cultures (French, German, Swedish). Take a walk down the Friedricho pasažas, visit the reconstructed Meridianas ship, find the quirky Golden Mouse sculpture and visit the Clock Museum.

Turku is a Finnish city dating back to the XIII century. Join in the ships’ spectacular route through the Turku Archipelago before being brought right into the middle of the city on the banks of the Aura River. Walk the cobblestone streets, visit the medieval castle, Forum Marinum maritime centre, or one of many art museums. Take a stroll down the river bank to find your favourite little restaurant or cafe.

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
