Sailing the Atlantic, visiting remote islands, learning about scientific research of the oceans and competing in the Liberty Tall Ships Regatta – this voyage has it all! Join Bark Europa for this combination journey, starting in South Africa and sailing north towards the Ascension Island and then to the Azores, before making your way to Europe. Reach France just in time for the Rouen Armada maritime festival and take part in a race of Tall Ships to Scheveningen, just out of The Hague. During this superb trip of almost 80 days you will make approx. 5,500 nautical miles and learn a lot about sailing – and about yourself. Open to Windseekers of 15 years and older. Places in 2-person cabins – no longer available.

Ports

Cape Town, close to Cape of Good Hope, is a wonderful place where African and European cultures mix and match in interesting ways. The city offers lots of entertainment and fine cuisine, and there is much to see! Visit the Table Mountain, saunter along the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, check out Robben Island where Nelson Mandela used to be imprisoned, and of course no Windseeker’s visit is complete without a trip to Cape Point. If you have time, a drive along the coast is highly recommended!

Scheveningen is a popular sea resort in the Netherlands, a stone’s throw away from the seat of government in The Hague. It has a busy marina and a lively (somewhat kitschy) promenade – great for an afternoon of sightseeing. You’ll also find plenty to do nearby. Go for a walk in the dune landscape or take a tour around the Palace of Peace. Visit Madurodam to see the Netherlands rebuilt in miniature, check out the city centre of The Hague, or explore the beach and perhaps even go kitesurfing.
