Bark Europa:
Noumea (NC) - Brisbane (AU)

16 July - 25 July 2020

Sailing the Pacific to Australia. The voyage starts on the green and laid back island of New Caladonia whose waters are many colours of green and blue and at night, the sky is full of magnificent southern stars. Set out a course, brace the masts, haul the halyards and off you go into the deep Coral sea! Sail east towards Australia, searching the waves for exotic wildlife: dolphins, turtles and several species of whales are calling these waters their home. Your voyage will end in Brisbane, the beautiful and warm “river city”. Open to Windseekers of 15 years and older. Only places in 4/6-person cabins available.

Ports

Noumea is the capital of New Caledonia – a French overseas territory east of Australia. You can choose to relax on one of the lovely beaches or take a more active approach and visit the sights. For outdoor adventure take a ferry to the Amedee Lighthouse. If you’re interested in marine wildlife don’t miss the Aquarium des Lagons Nouvelle Caledonie. For aboriginal history visit Tjibaou Cultural Center and, of course, try to make time for the maritime museum!

Brisbane is one of Australia’s oldest and largest cities. It’s situated on the east coast inside a peninsula of the Brisbane River, at the Coral Sea. Visit a Koala Sanctuary then take in the views from Mount Coot-tha Lookout spot or the Story Bridge. You can spend a relaxing day on the beach or visit the Queensland Art Gallery & Gallery of Modern Art to see the works of art from Australia, Asia and the Pacific. No matter your interests, you are sure to find something to do in Brisbane!
