From Europe to South America in two months! At the end of summer, when the sun starts retreating to the southern hemisphere, so does Bark Europa. And you can too! Join the ship and her crew when they sail towards the Canary Islands and then across the Atlantic to Uruguay. Fill your days with playing around with stunsails, going to sail training outside on the sunny main deck, climbing around in the rig or helping out with maintenance projects. But above all the close proximity to nature, the simplicity of life and the ultimate freedom is what make these ocean voyages extra special. Spending time at sea will give you a different perspective on time and distance and an opportunity to admire your surroundings, the beauty of nature and the importance to care for the environment. Join this epic adventure for an unforgettable sailing experience. Open to Windseekers aged 15 and older.
Scheveningen is a popular sea resort in the Netherlands, a stone’s throw away from the seat of government in The Hague. It has a busy marina and a lively (somewhat kitschy) promenade – great for an afternoon of sightseeing. You’ll also find plenty to do nearby. Go for a walk in the dune landscape or take a tour around the Palace of Peace. Visit Madurodam to see the Netherlands rebuilt in miniature, check out the city centre of The Hague, or explore the beach and perhaps even go kitesurfing.
Montevideo is the capital of Uruguay, situated on the north shore of Río de la Plata, the arm of the Atlantic Ocean that separates Uruguay from Argentina; with Buenos Aires on the other side. Visit the Ciudad Vieja with the city’s oldest buildings, several museums, art galleries and the Mercado del Puerto. Walk over the Rambla, a coastal avenue. Go to Fortaleza del Cerro for a view over the bay. Walk through the botanical gardens of parque Prado. Enjoy the beach (13 km) or Uruguayan tango.

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.
What does it mean?
In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
