Sailing from pollution 2 solution: Sustainable Youth Exchange for trainees from: Sweden, Netherlands and Finland. Sailing, sustainability, making international friends – this journey has it all! Join Constantia in Sweden for an adventure filled with learning about sailing, environment, and yourself. Steer, navigate, trim the sails; join the plastic research of the sea and brainstorm sustainable solutions to everyday problems. Make connections: with nature, the sailing world, and trainees from different countries and backgrounds. At some point in the journey, the Ship will make a stop in Kalmar, where you will have the opportunity to meet the Ship Ingo, which will be also hosting another Youth Exchange. You will have the chance to meet participants from other countries and celebrate the differences and similarities of each culture in a singular event!
For young Windseekers aged 15-25 (26-28 at request).

About the Journey

Explore the coast of Sweden on board a Sail Training Ship Constantia. Make friends from different countries and backgrounds, and learn to work together as a team to sail the Ship and look for solution to plastic pollution! Practice speaking English every day, study microplastics in the sea and learn how the vessel sails against the wind. Have an exciting adventure that you will not soon forget!

Harness the power of the wind to fill the sails and let the ship move from one place to another. Learn to steer, navigate and hoist the sails together. Live in an international environment, with trainees of different backgrounds. Learn new things about yourself, and share your passions with the others. Cook a national meal from your country and try other people's favourite dishes. The mentors on board will help you to become closer with the group and organise fun activities on board and on land.

Clean up a beach together to leave the places you visit cleaner than you've found them. Invite local people to join you and spread the message about plastic pollution. Leave the port and lower the manta trawl into the waves to collect water samples and analyse them for microplastics. The marine biologist on board will explain how they got there, and together you can brainstorm how to prevent that. Will you take the challenge to buy groceries without bringing back a single piece of plastic?

No budget? No worries! The Windseeker Dinghy will help you get on board. The program, much more than just a fundraising training, is part of your preparation and included in the Exchanges. Raise money for your journey, supported by an experienced coach. Learn new things about yourself and gain life skills. It is also a great way to connect with other trainees. Let us know at booking if you’d like to take part. It's a good idea, really. Regardless of financial reasons. Join Dinghy and get going!

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
