The Tall Ships Races 2023: Cruise in Company + sailing to Rotterdam. Join the Eendracht for the third leg of the 2023 Tall Ships Races, and then sail on to the Netherlands in this 18-day combination voyage. Sail from Norwegian Fredrikstad all the way to Lerwick – the main town and port of the Shetland archipelago. Unlike the races, Cruise in Company is not about being the fastest, but rather enjoying the leisurely sailing, stopping by in smaller harbours, or anchoring in a bay for a swim straight from the ship! Of course, you will also learn to sail a large schooner, from hoisting and trimming the sails, to steering and navigating. Spend a few days enjoying the Tall Ships Lerwick festival with your crew mates before sailing out again, on course to Rotterdam. For all Windseekers over 15 years old

Ports

100 km south of Oslo, Fredrikstad is a coastal town, on the East side of the Oslofjord. Fredrikstad has a mix of old and new - The 'Gamlebyen' Old Town is a well-preserved star fort, across the water from the modern waterfront. Visit the 16th-century Kongsten fort, or Scandinavia's largest model railway. Fredrikstad has successfully been a host port for the Tall Ship Races before, welcoming sailors and visitors with great events.

Rotterdam is the largest port of Europe, and a modern, bustling town. Much of the historic city centre was destroyed during World War II, but extensive rebuilding resulted in a modern, multicultural city with many architectural highlights. Rotterdam has excellent cultural facilities and a diverse nightlife; during the summer the city hosts a large number of events. Discover the city by bicycle and go for a coffee in Hotel New York, the former headquarters of the Holland America Line.

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

 

What does it mean?
