*You can now pre-register for this journey and we will get back to you with details soon* Sailing from pollution 2 solution: Sustainable Youth Exchange for trainees from: Sweden, Netherlands and Denmark.
Ready for a sustainable sailing adventure? Join Ingo for a youth exchange and visit several ports in Sweden. Make international friends, visit beautiful places, learn to sail and study plastic pollution and marine environment. The Sail Training is an experiential program, meaning that you will learn by doing: trimming the sails, climbing the masts, steering and navigating will soon become natural as you gain your sea legs! At some point in the journey, the Ship will make a stop in Kalmar, where you will have the opportunity to meet the Ship Constantia, which will be also hosting another Youth Exchange. You will have the chance to meet participants from other countries and celebrate the differences and similarities of each culture in a singular event!
For young Windseekers aged 15-25 (26-28 at request).

About the Journey

From pollution 2 solution: join a journey that is about so much more than just sailing! Step on board the Ingo to explore the coast of Sweden while learning to sail, conduct plastic research and live in an international environment. Get into the rhythm of life on board, with day and night sailing watches and fun activities in between. Join the games facilitated by mentors, or propose your own activities for the whole group - there is always space for new ideas!

Deploy the manta trawl into the sea, and find out how much microplastic you collect. The experienced marine biologist on board will tell you how it got there, and what you can do to prevent that. Learn to recognise various marine species living in the Baltic and brainstorm how you can live more sustainably to protect them. Organise coastal cleanups and spread the message about the pollution of the seas.

Learn to sail from an experienced crew, and enjoy the feeling of steering a large ship all by yourself! Pull on the lines to hoist the sails - it takes teamwork, and singing some shanties doesn't hurt - plot your course on the sea charts and stand on lookout for obstacles. Stargaze without light pollution during a night watch, and enjoy the feeling of being one with nature.

No budget? No worries! The Windseeker Dinghy will help you get on board. The program, much more than just a fundraising training, is part of your preparation and included in the Exchanges. Raise money for your journey, supported by an experienced coach. Learn new things about yourself and gain life skills. It is also a great way to connect with other trainees. Let us know at booking if you’d like to take part. It's a good idea, really. Regardless of financial reasons. Join Dinghy and get going!

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
