Falmouth (GB) - Lisbon (PT)

26 June - 04 July 2020

Across the Biscay: delivery voyage to the Tall Ships Races 2020. Join the Maybe in a charming town of Falmouth in Cornwall, Great Britain, for an adventurous trip to Lisbon. On the way you will cross the challenging Bay of Biscay before reaching northern Spain and, finally, Portugal. On board you will be a part of the trainee crew, sailing the ship together towards your destination. You will steer, navigate, raise the sails – among many others. Don’t worry if you don’t know how, the experienced crew will explain everything! All you need is an adventurous spirit and the desire to disconnect for a week, choosing the ocean, stars and dolphins over wi-fi. You will reach Lisbon in time for the Tall Ships efstival to start – enjoy the breathtaking view of dozens beautiful vessels in one beautiful place! For Windseekers of all ages, minimum age 18 years.

Ports

Falmouth lies near the southwestern tip of the United Kingdom. It’s a quaint port town, surrounded by grassy hills and forests, and famous for its harbor. Going on a hike here is very rewarding! Sailing is a popular pastime in Falmouth, so don’t be surprised if you’re engaged in a lively discussion on the finer points of navigation over a beer in one of the local pubs. Falmouth has been a kind port to Tall Ships, hosting the Tall Ships Races in 1966, 1982, and 1998.

Lisbon has a long and varied history as a major trading hub, much of which is still visible in the old city centre. Discover Alfama, the old quarters with its many old alleys, steps and the Lisbon Cathedral. The famous tram line 28 will get you there – an experience in and of itself. And be sure to check out a fado concert if you want to learn about saudade – loss, yearning and comfort, all rolled into one. Emotions that all seafarers will get to know one way or the other…
