Tall Ships Races Magellan – Elcano 500 series 2021, Race 2. Join the last race and final event of this year’s Races. Find the Maybe moored among many other ships in Lisbon and step on board to begin your adventure. Leave the city behind and set course along the coast of Portugal to southern Spain. Race other vessels to be the first on the finish line. Learn to sail a traditional ship: steer, trim the sails, navigate, and make friends along the way! Enjoy the times spent out in nature, looking at the horizon and searching for wildlife in the ocean. Reach Cadiz in time to spend the last two days in port, enjoying the festivities. Join the Crew Parade, Crew Party, and of course – the prize giving ceremony. Meet the crews from other ships and share you sailing stories with them. For all Windseekers aged 15-25.
Lisbon has a long and varied history as a major trading hub, much of which is still visible in the old city centre. Discover Alfama, the old quarters with its many old alleys, steps and the Lisbon Cathedral. The famous tram line 28 will get you there – an experience in and of itself. And be sure to check out a fado concert if you want to learn about saudade – loss, yearning and comfort, all rolled into one. Emotions that all seafarers will get to know one way or the other…
The oldest city in Spain, with a wealth of historic landmarks. Water is never far away, as the old town is built on a narrow stretch of land jutting out into the Mediterranean Sea. Get lost in the Old town with its many narrow, winding streets and visit one of the many parks that dot the city. Its many cathedrals and plazas are also well worth a visit. Go to La Caleta beach, at La Viña, the old fisherman quarter. Go catch a Flamenco concert and feast your taste buds with the fresh sea foods.

What does it mean?
In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
