A Coruña (ES) - Lisbon (PT)

28 August - 04 September 2021

*Places at request* Tall Ships Races Magellan – Elcano 500 series 2021, Cruise in Company. Discover the magnificent Atlantic coast of Spain and Portugal in this picturesque voyage. You will board the Morgenster in A Coruna and take course south, sailing towards Lisbon with a fleet of other Tall Ships. During the Cruise in Company leg there will be enough time to take in the beautiful coast and see where the wind brings you. Perhaps you will visit another port along the way, or anchor somewhere nice for a refreshing swim in the ocean. You will reach Lisbon in time to spend the last two days on board enjoying the Tall Ships event, with dozens of ships and thousands crew members from different countries. Join exclusive events, including crew competitions and Crew Party, and take your time saying goodbye to your new friends. Open to all Windseekers over 15 years old.

Programme Outline

Ports

A Coruña is a port town in the north west of Spain. Here you will find the Tower of Hercules, a lighthouse that has been in operation for 1.800 years! The town itself is an affluent commercial and tourism hub, with plenty of things to see and do. Visit the popular beaches, explore the city centre, or sample some of the many cultural activities. The Aquarium Finisterrae lets you explore the marine life of the region. But if you prefer your fish on a plate, A Coruña’s restaurants can help you out.

Lisbon has a long and varied history as a major trading hub, much of which is still visible in the old city centre. Discover Alfama, the old quarters with its many old alleys, steps and the Lisbon Cathedral. The famous tram line 28 will get you there – an experience in and of itself. And be sure to check out a fado concert if you want to learn about saudade – loss, yearning and comfort, all rolled into one. Emotions that all seafarers will get to know one way or the other…
