Discovering the North of France. Board the Morgenster in Cherbourg for several days on board, sailing along the English Channel. Set the sails, steer a large Tall Ship by yourself, navigate the route and look out for the cargo traffic out on the water, while having fun with the crew and trainees. See the coast of France – and perhaps Great Britain – from a new perspective, contemplate the sea and the stars, search the waves for dolphins, enjoy the rhythm of life on a ship. Open to all Windseekers aged 15 and over.

Ports

Situated on the Normandy coast, Cherbourg-Octeville is close to the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey, and to a large nature park in the southeast. This makes Cherbourg perfect as a base for several day trips. But the town itself also has plenty to offer any Windseekers. Visit the Cité de la Mer, a large museum devoted to scientific and historical aspects of maritime subjects, the Botanical Gardens, or the racetrack at La Glacerie. Or discover this typically French town on foot.

Le Havre is a large north French maritime commercial and passenger port established in the early XVI century. The city in on the UNESCO World Heritage Site for its historical buildings and is considered a birthplace of impressionism. Walk in the steps of Monet and discover the places you know from modern art. Take a hiking tour, visit one of the nearby castles (chateau), the Graville abbey, see the hanging gardens or take a walk in one of the many city parks.
