Morgenster:
Lisbon (PT) - Cadiz (ES)

04 September - 11 September 2021

*Places at request* Tall Ships Races Magellan – Elcano 500 series 2021, Race 2. Take a moment to take in the sight of numerous Tall Ships moored on the Tagus River in Lisbon, before you find the Morgenster between them. Soon you will sail out in a Parade of Sails and embark on a true adventure! Set the sails, plot the course and race other ships south towards the Spanish city of Cadiz. Enjoy being out on the Atlantic, searching the waves for dolphins and being outdoors without daily distractions. Reach Cadiz in time to spend the last two days in port, celebrating the finish of the Races with Crew Parade, Crew Party, fireworks and many other events for all the crews! Open to all Windseekers over 15 years old.

Ports

Lisbon has a long and varied history as a major trading hub, much of which is still visible in the old city centre. Discover Alfama, the old quarters with its many old alleys, steps and the Lisbon Cathedral. The famous tram line 28 will get you there – an experience in and of itself. And be sure to check out a fado concert if you want to learn about saudade – loss, yearning and comfort, all rolled into one. Emotions that all seafarers will get to know one way or the other…

The oldest city in Spain, with a wealth of historic landmarks. Water is never far away, as the old town is built on a narrow stretch of land jutting out into the Mediterranean Sea. Get lost in the Old town with its many narrow, winding streets and visit one of the many parks that dot the city. Its many cathedrals and plazas are also well worth a visit. Go to La Caleta beach, at La Viña, the old fisherman quarter. Go catch a Flamenco concert and feast your taste buds with the fresh sea foods.

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
