January in Cape Verde. After a busy holiday season it’s time for a little escape! Join the Oosterschelde in Palmeira for a round-trip in the amazing archipelago off the coast of Africa. Leave northern winter behind and give yourself an adventure as a New Year gift! Visit several unique islands, from the most popular ones to the very remote. Learn to sail a Tall Ship, admire exotic wildlife, see beautiful landscapes and enjoy the digital detox. The days will be spent sailing or visiting, and most nights the ship will be anchored – with some exceptions for overnights crossings. You can choose to explore the islands on your own, or join the organised excursions for additional fee (approx. € 150 in total, depending on the number of participants). Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years. IMPORTANT: Due to coronavirus the maximum number of people on board has to be reduced. You can only share a cabin with a family member, and never with a stranger. Are you traveling alone? In this case, you’ll have to book a single cabin.
Palmeira is the third-largest town in Cape Verde, situated on the island of Sal, yet still has a small, village atmosphere. When you land in Palmeira you will have just completed an Atlantic Crossing, or at least a hefty 2700km sail south from Europe. Whilst resting in Palmeira, visit some bars and restaurants, or explore further to desert Oases, caves and beaches.
