Oosterschelde:
Tenerife (ES) - Palmeira (CV)

03 December - 11 December 2020

Bring the Oosterschelde to Cape Verde. Spend 8 days on board, sailing on the Atlantic, from Canary Islands to Cape Verde. Experience the real maritime life, keeping watch and sailing the ship towards your final destination. This is a delivery journey, with no sightseeing stops planned along the way, but it promises to be a very pleasant one. You will pick up the northeast trade wind and the favourable current, while the temperatures rise every day.You can also combine this trip with the previous one and sail all the way from Rotterdam. Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years. IMPORTANT: Due to coronavirus the maximum number of people on board has to be reduced. You can only share a cabin with a family member, and never with a stranger. Are you traveling alone? In this case, you’ll have to book a single cabin.

Ports

Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, and a popular tourist destination. One of the largest Carnival festivals is hosted here, and for tourists there is a lot to see and do. But the island is large enough to escape mass tourism, so let its natural beauty seduce you to a hike or a drive around the island. You’ll find mountains to climb, cliffs overlooking bays, and ravines. The ‘Island of eternal spring’ is just what you need if you arrive fresh from your Journey!

Palmeira is the third-largest town in Cape Verde, situated on the island of Sal, yet still has a small, village atmosphere. When you land in Palmeira you will have just completed an Atlantic Crossing, or at least a hefty 2700km sail south from Europe. Whilst resting in Palmeira, visit some bars and restaurants, or explore further to desert Oases, caves and beaches.
