Exploring the Iberian coast. Join Patricia in Cadiz, the final port of the Magellan-Elcano Tall Ships Races in southern Spain. Step on board during the event, where you will get to admire an international fleet of Tall Ships, all gathered in one place. Leave the port and set course along the Atlantic coast of Spain and Portugal, towards A Coruna, for the late-summer journey. Along the way you will get the chance to stop in a port of two, or maybe anchor somewhere for a swim, all depending on where the winds bring you. Although this leg is not a part of the races, Patricia is an adventurous vessel and her crew like sports-like sailing.

Ports

The oldest city in Spain, with a wealth of historic landmarks. Water is never far away, as the old town is built on a narrow stretch of land jutting out into the Mediterranean Sea. Get lost in the Old town with its many narrow, winding streets and visit one of the many parks that dot the city. Its many cathedrals and plazas are also well worth a visit. Go to La Caleta beach, at La Viña, the old fisherman quarter. Go catch a Flamenco concert and feast your taste buds with the fresh sea foods.

A Coruña is a port town in the north west of Spain. Here you will find the Tower of Hercules, a lighthouse that has been in operation for 1.800 years! The town itself is an affluent commercial and tourism hub, with plenty of things to see and do. Visit the popular beaches, explore the city centre, or sample some of the many cultural activities. The Aquarium Finisterrae lets you explore the marine life of the region. But if you prefer your fish on a plate, A Coruña’s restaurants can help you out.

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

 

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end.
