Picton Castle:
Erie (US) - Lunenburg (CA)

25 August - 11 September 2019

Homeward Bound. After an exciting summer of exploring the Great Lakes, Picton Castle will make her way back to Nova Scotia. You will board in Pennsylvania, US, and sail the Lake Erie towards Welland Canal. It will lead you to Lake Ontario, whose length you will cross all the way to the St. Lawrence River. Navigating the river, you will reach the Bay of Saint Lawrence and the Atlantic, before reaching Lunenburg in Nova Scotia. Open for all Windseekers, minimum age 18 years. In order to ensure positive atmosphere on baord, all trainees must go through an application process before confirming the place on board – contact info@windseeker.org for details. Important: please make sure that your travel documents are in order for both visited countries.

Ports

Lunenburg is a Canadian port town in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. Historically the town was involved in several wars, including the American Revolution. Today the town is a fishery port and has several small shipyards that have managed to preserve the skills of the sailing era. Did you know that the replica of the ‘Bounty’ was built here? Visit the historic city centre on foot or by horse and carriage, and enjoy a leisurely hike in the grassy hills of the surrounding countryside.
