Santa Maria Manuela:
Rouen (FR) - Bordeaux (FR)

18 June - 23 June 2023

Course for Bordeaux! Join Santa Maria Manuela in early summer to sail along the coast of France. Leave Rouen by sailing down the River Seine towards the English Channel. Reach the sea and breathe in the salty air, before setting all the sails and taking course around Brittany. Then sail south along the coast, with France on the left, and Atlantic Ocean stretching all the way to the horizon on the right. Spend a few days sailing in the Bay of Biscay, admiring its famous wildlife, before reaching equally famous city of Bordeaux.
For Windseekers aged 14-80 years (trainees younger than 18 have to be accompanied by an adult).

Ports

Rouen is a city with long history located on the River Seine in Normandy, North France. It's also the venue of L'Armada, a sailing festival which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2019. When visiting Rouen you can't miss the Gothic Cathedral and Palais de Justice. For nature lovers the Roumare Forest just outside the city is the place to be, while art enthusiasts should visit Musee Secq des Tournelles - the wrought iron museum.

Bordeaux is famous for its wine, but the city itself also has a lot to offer. The cathedral, the Place des Quinconces and the Port de La Lune will have you gazing in amazement. The city also has a diverse cultural agenda and a bustling nightlife. To the south of the city you’ll find sandy beaches with enormous dunes that offer great surfing conditions on the waves of the Atlantic ocean. Every two years Bordeaux organizes a harbor festival, with many Tall Ships visiting.

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
