Thalassa:
IJmuiden (NL) - IJmuiden (NL)

19 July - 25 July 2020

Youth Journey for ages 13-18. Explore the Netherlands by ship from the water! Spend a week of sailing on board a traditional tall ship Thalassa. Depending on the wind and weather forecast you will either sail north, to explore Texel, Terschelling and Den Helder, or south to visit Scheveningen, Vlissingen and Hellevoetsluis. No matter which route the Thalassa takes, you will spend the week visiting interesting places, learning all you’d like to know about sailing a tall ship and making new friends, while leaving your daily worries behind along with Wi-Fi. Open to young Windseekers aged 13-18.

Ports

IJmuiden, on the west coast of the Netherlands, is the water gateway to Amsterdam. Cruise ships, cargo vessels and pleasure yachts pass through its busy locks every day while the IJmuiden marina provides an excellent shelter from the North Sea storms. IJmuiden offers a wide, sandy beach that is popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers. Behind the dunes you’ll find a small nature reserve, perfect for a hike or a run. IJmuiden’s restaurants serve fresh fish, straight from the local market.
