International Exchange during the Tall Ships Races: Race 2. For young people aged 15-25 from all countries. Looking for a unique and exciting adventure? Well, search no more! Join Vega Gamleby, a traditional Swedish Tall Ship, for a race on the Baltic Sea. On board you will learn everything you need to know about sailing: from climbing the masts, to steering, from making knots to navigating, and so much more. With 36 other young people on board, you will soon make lots of international friends – and a Windseeker mentor will help with that, by organising games and other fun activities. Feel the wind in your hair as you stand on lookout, enjoy the thrill of racing other Tall Ships, learn to sing some shanties and find out what the life of a sailor is like. Reach the Aaland Islands, off the coast of Finland, in time to join the port activities. Spend the last two days on board in Mariehamn, participating in crew-exclusive festivities and celebrating the last moments with your new friends. IMPORTANT: Vega Gamleby is a vegetarian ship and all meals on board will be vegetarian.
Tallinn is a capital of Estonia, situated on the north coast of the country. It lies on the shore of Baltic Sea, in the Bay of Finland. When visiting, you must see the old town dating back to the medieval times and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Of course you can’t miss the Estonian Maritime Museum which depicts the country’s long maritime traditions. The Seaplane Harbour is a high tech museum which offers a very unique experience while climbing Kohtuotsa will provide you with a beautiful vista.
Mariehamn is the capital of Aaland Islands, an autonomous archipelago off the coast of Finland. The town has maritime ties, seen when visiting the Aaland Maritime Museum and the impressive Pommern museumship. Don’t miss the old Maritime Quarter with its old fishermen houses and boats. With less than 12,000 inhabitants Mariehamn has a cozy and friendly atmosphere.

What does it mean?
In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
