Vega Gamleby:
Turku (FI) - Tallinn (EE)

07 July - 17 July 2021

International Exchange during the Tall Ships Races: Cruise in Company. Join the traditional sailing Ship Vega in Finnish port town of Turku for a 10-day adventure on board. Leave the harbour with other Ships in a stunning Parade of Sail, before embarking on a sea adventure. Learn to sail a Tall Ship, discover the coastline of Finland and Estonia, get your sea legs and make international friends. The experienced mentor on board will organise fun activities and make sure everyone feels at home. Sailing a Tall Ship is a wonderful way to disconnect from your daily life and spend the time out in nature, being active and learning new things. Reach the capital of Estonia in time to spend the last 2 days of your time on board in the harbour, participating in festivities and saying goodbyes to your new friends. Go home filled with wonderful stories to tell and the hunger for more adventures. IMPORTANT: Vega Gamleby is a vegetarian ship and all meals on board will be vegetarian.

Ports

Turku is a Finnish city dating back to the XIII century. Join in the ships’ spectacular route through the Turku Archipelago before being brought right into the middle of the city on the banks of the Aura River. Walk the cobblestone streets, visit the medieval castle, Forum Marinum maritime centre, or one of many art museums. Take a stroll down the river bank to find your favourite little restaurant or cafe.

Tallinn is a capital of Estonia, situated on the north coast of the country. It lies on the shore of Baltic Sea, in the Bay of Finland. When visiting, you must see the old town dating back to the medieval times and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Of course you can’t miss the Estonian Maritime Museum which depicts the country’s long maritime traditions. The Seaplane Harbour is a high tech museum which offers a very unique experience while climbing Kohtuotsa will provide you with a beautiful vista.

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
