Cruise in Company is a unique leg of The Tall Ships Races, combining the excitement of Host Port festivals with the pleasure of more relaxed sailing.
Your adventure begins with the Parade of Sail, where you depart the harbour in front of thousands of cheering spectators. From onboard, you’ll have a front-row view of the magnificent fleet as it sets off.
After this spectacular send-off, you’ll spend several days sailing toward the next Host Port. Instead of racing to the finish line, the Cruise in Company focuses on hands-on learning and exploration. With no pressure to compete, there’s plenty of time for in-depth Sail Training, detailed explanations, and learning through trial and error. Everyone can try different roles on board without worrying about losing a race position.
The route allows for some stops along the way, and if the stars align you might meet up with another vessel for a beach barbecue, or anchor together for an evening of swimming and partying. And with no pre-planned route, the captain will be able to choose the way that allows for the best sailing opportunities.
Finally, you will reach the port of arrival, where you’ll spend a couple of days celebrating your voyage. Enjoy the Crew Parade, Crew Party, and the official prize-giving ceremony. It’s a great chance to meet young sailors from around the world, explore other ships, and share a few final unforgettable moments with your crew.
In The Tall Ships Races 2026, Cruise in Company is the second of four legs. It begins in the Dutch city Harlingen on the 5th of July, and ends in Belgian Antwerp on the 13th of July.
This leaves plenty of opportunities to explore the picturesque Dutch coast and enjoy the sailing.
