Atyla:
Rouen (FR) - Scheveningen (NL)

15 June - 22 June 2019

The Liberty Tall Ships Regatta. Sail with Atyla in this unique event, celebrating 75 years of peace. The voyage beings in Normandy, North France, and will take you around a number of waypoints on the English Channel, towards Scheveningen, just outside of The Hague. The city has a long tradition of organising great maritime events, and you can expect a very warm welcome after your race. Open to all Windseekers, minumum age 15 years. Please note: just for this voyage, you will not be a part of Parade of Sail out of Rouen on board. Instead you will be able to watch it from the shore, and a bus will bring you to board Atyla again after the parade.

Ports

Rouen is a city with long history located on the River Seine in Normandy, North France. It’s also the venue of L’Armada, a sailing festival which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2019. When visiting Rouen you can’t miss the Gothic Cathedral and Palais de Justice. For nature lovers the Roumare Forest just outside the city is the place to be, while art enthusiasts should visit Musee Secq des Tournelles – the wrought iron museum.

Scheveningen is a popular sea resort in the Netherlands, a stone’s throw away from the seat of government in The Hague. It has a busy marina and a lively (somewhat kitschy) promenade – great for an afternoon of sightseeing. You’ll also find plenty to do nearby. Go for a walk in the dune landscape or take a tour around the Palace of Peace. Visit Madurodam to see the Netherlands rebuilt in miniature, check out the city centre of The Hague, or explore the beach and perhaps even go kitesurfing.
