Bark Europa:
Porto (PT) - Santa Cruz de Tenerife (ES)

16 September - 27 September 2016

*No places available anymore* Starting in the beautiful city of Porto you will set sail towards the Canary Islands, to Tenerife. During your time at sea you’ll learn all about life on board. You’ll help set and trim the sails, do navigation and lookout duty, steer the ship and do odd jobs both on deck and below. But there’s also plenty of time for stargazing and staring at the horizon. Make new, lasting friendships with your fellow Windseekers, and exchange stories with the crew over a fine meal from the galley. Experience the magic of the night watch, when you are alone with the stars and the waves. It will be a Journey you will never forget. If you book some extra night in a hotel at Tenerife you can also visit the vulcano el Teide. Open to all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Porto, located on the Costa Verde, is Portugal's second-largest city and a busy port town. Porto's long and varied history has left many beautiful old buildings that you can discover by walking around the 'Ribeira' - the old city centre that is a World Heritage site. City walks can be demanding as Porto is built in the coastal hills, but that also means that each corner offers a new, exciting vista! And you can always cool your heels on Porto's rustic terraces and vibrant street side cafés.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the shared capital of the Canary Islands, together with Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The central square Plaza de España is a real eye-catcher, situated between the ocean and the old, bustling city centre. Lose yourself in the crowded alleys, find a spot on one of the terraces, or leave town and discover the rugged volcanic landscape. The museum of Nature and Man is worth a visit. Chances are you’ll find pilot whales in the waters around Tenerife, so keep an eye out!
