Kristiansand is the business and cultural capital of southern Norway. The sea and surrounding fjords are perfect for recreational activities like fishing and sailing, and the nearby inland and mountains are ideal for skiing and hiking. In the more urban areas you will find a rich variety of cafes, restaurants, art galleries and museums.
Nieuwpoort, on the Belgian coast, is a smal town and port. It has historically been the theatre of many battles, and that alone makes Nieuwpoort well worth a visit. Walk around the old town centre and you’ll see several historic buildings. And if you’re up for a bit more action, the beach and the dunes will offer opportunities for a swim, a run, and many different water activities. Close to Nieuwpoort you’ll find the historic cities of Gent and Bruges, both excellent options for a city trip.
