Atyla:
Bilbao (ES) - Brixham (GB)

22 April - 30 April 2023

Sail like a savvy pirate from Atyla’s homeport to this UK Pirate Festival! Sailing will be a mix of the French coast and open sea, perfect to experience a Tall Ship life. You will cross the Bay of Biscay, depending on the winds possibly visiting a port in France along the way. Finally, after crossing the English Channel, you will reach Great Britain. For the last days of the journey you will live aboard Atyla in Brixham’s port while attending all of the festival’s activities and parties in your pirate costume!
Open to all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years. Sail as a trainee for a full Tall Ship experience and participate in all activities on board as part of the (trainee) crew (including in ports). Or join as a guest and choose which activities you want to take part in.

Ports

Bilbao is a port in the northern tip of the Iberian peninsula, founded in the 14th century. Later on it became an important commercial hub for the Basque region. Today, Bilbao is a vigorous service city. The iconic Bilbao Guggenheim museum is a must-see. Also take some time to walk around the city centre and visit the Exteberria Park. Around the city you can do many outdoor activities such as rock climbing, hiking and surfing.

Brixham is a fishing town in Devon, south-west England, famous for its annual Pirate Festival. The Brixham harbour is very picturesque, and a wonderful place for a walk. Grab some fish&chips and go exploring! Visit the Golden Hind Museum Ship, the replica of Francis Drake's famous vessel, and the Heritage Museum to learn about local history. Afterwards relax on the Breakwater Beach, or - if you'd rather stretch your legs - take a walk to Berry Head National Nature Reserve and admire the views.

OTHER JOURNEYS YOU MIGHT LIKE

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
