Mariehamn (AX) - Szczecin (PL)

26 July - 04 August 2024

*Places at request.* The Tall Ships Races 2024: Race 3. Ready for some serious racing? Join Saeftinghe for the last race of this year’s Tall Ships Races and sail from Aland Islands, across the Baltic, all the way to Szczecin in Poland. Get together with your crew mates for a great adventure. Learn to sail, from steering and navigating to hoisting and trimming the sails for maximum efficiency, to making knots and singing shanties. Make new friends, and spend several days out on the open sea, with beautiful sunsets, stars on night watches, and perhaps some dolphins as well! Spend the last two days in Szczecin, marching in a Crew Parade, dancing at Crew Party, and enjoying the festivities of the closing festival of The Tall Ships Races 2024.
For Windseekers aged 15-25 (26-30 at request.)

Ports

Mariehamn is the capital of Aaland Islands, an autonomous archipelago off the coast of Finland. The town has maritime ties, seen when visiting the Aaland Maritime Museum and the impressive Pommern museumship. Don't miss the old Maritime Quarter with its old fishermen houses and boats. With less than 12,000 inhabitants Mariehamn has a cozy and friendly atmosphere.

Szczecin in North-Western Poland has a deep commitment to sail training. Discover the Underground City Trails: a network of bunkers from WWII with their unique atmosphere. If you're more of an outdorsy type, take a canoe along the Odra river or explore Bukowe Hills which hide the ruins of old bridges and are home to numerous boars and deer. Visit one of many museums or the Castle of Pomeranian Dukes or the beautiful rose gardens.

OTHER JOURNEYS YOU MIGHT LIKE

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
