Sail with the Black Diamond from Hartlepool to Sail Antwerpen where you will join the great event. The first port of the Tall Ships Races 2016. All Ships will start the Race here. Enjoy the great event in Antwerp and visit many Tall Ships. Age 16-25 years only.
Hartlepool is a British port on the east coast of the UK, with a tradition of maritime activity. In 2010, the town played host to the Tall Ships Races, receiving some 125 Tall Ships in its harbor. Spend some time around the harbor and the city centre, visit the nearby North York Moors national park, or relive the heyday of the British navy at the Maritime Experience. If you have come to like the mastclimbing on board, there is a boulder park in Summerhill where you can reach for the top again!
This city in Belgium is the capital of Antwerp province. With a population of 510,610 it is the most populous city in Belgium. Its metropolitan area houses around 1,200,000 people. Antwerp is on the River Scheldt, linked to the North Sea by the Westerschelde estuary. The Port of Antwerp is one of the biggest in the world, ranking third in Europe and within the top 20 globally. There is a theory about the name Antwerp: "The wharf where ships berth".
