Blue Clipper:
Oban (GB) - Mallaig (GB)

06 June - 12 June 2021

Gateway to the Isles. Join Blue Clipper on a 9 night voyage from Oban – ‘the gateway to the isles’ as she makes her way to Mallaig on the west coast of the Highlands of Scotland. This journey will take you to remote islands and isolated anchorages with possible stops at The Isle of Mull, with its colourful town of Tobermory and some of the “small isles” of Rum, Eigg, Canna and Muck. You may also have the opportunity to visit the Outer Hebrides islands of Barra and Mingulay and finally the rugged beauty of Skye, weather permitting. For Windseekers aged 15+ (ages 9-15 accompanied by a guardian at request).

Ports

Oban (meaning ‘little bay’ in Gaelic) is a small harbor town on the west coast of Scotland, famous for its whiskey distillery. The town occupies a beautiful setting in the Firth of Lorn, and is a perfect place to find shelter from the Atlantic. Walking around town is a pleasure, and close by you’ll find mountains, castles, dramatic coastal scenery, and McCaig’s tower that resembles the Colosseum. In the first week of August, the town plays host to West Highland week, a yearly sailing regatta.

Mallaig is a fishing port in the Scottish Highlands. The picturesque West Highland railway line links Mallaig with Glasgow and with beautiful vistas it is an attraction in itself. From the port you can take a ferry to the popular destination Isle of Skye, as well as other nearby islands. Visit the Mallaig Heritage Centre or take a walk outside of the village and admire the surrounding nature.

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
