* Last Places – contact info@windseeker.org before booking * Walking, Wildlife and the Westfjords. Join the Blue Clipper for this short but exciting expedition of Iceland’s Westfjords. This trip includes a guided walk and sailing out to hopefully catch a glimpse of the whales. The Westfjords is almost a seperate island, and legend has it that three trolls spent a night digging through a narrow isthmus to create an island, but were turned to stone at sunrise. No sailing experience needed. Guest places open to Windseekers of all ages, minimum age 15 years.
Reykjavík is the capital of Iceland. As you approach from the sea, you’ll sea a modern city skyline with snowy volcanic mountains in the background. Reykjavík is quite cosmopolitan, with plenty of culture and entertainment. Go for a night on the town, or find a tour that takes you to see the glaciers, geysers, and volcanoes for which Iceland is famous. Reykjavík’s climate is less cold than you’d expect. At Nauthólsvík you’ll even find a geothermically heated beach!
