Winter youth sailing experience. Join this active sailing trip from Rotterdam to Alicante with a stopover in Porto (Leixoes). Set sail from the Netherlands and make your way south, sailing the Atlantic towards the sunny Portugal. Take the time to stretch your legs in Porto, strolling through the historical city, enjoying the amazing restaurants Porto, or visiting the authentic port houses down the river Douro. Hoist the sails again and leave the Atlantic Ocean behind to enter the Mediterranean sea via the Strait of Gibralta. The final port of this great adventure is Alicante on the Costa Blanca, famous for mild winters.
Open to young Windseekers aged 15-25.
Afternight possible – stay on board until the 20th of January (noon) for additioal € 37,50.

Ports

Rotterdam is the largest port of Europe, and a modern, bustling town. Much of the historic city centre was destroyed during World War II, but extensive rebuilding resulted in a modern, multicultural city with many architectural highlights. Rotterdam has excellent cultural facilities and a diverse nightlife; during the summer the city hosts a large number of events. Discover the city by bicycle and go for a coffee in Hotel New York, the former headquarters of the Holland America Line.

Alicante is a port city on the Costa Blanca, Mediterranean coast of Spain. Climb up to the 16-century Castle of Santa Barbara for a great view over the city and take a stroll through the lively Explanada de Espana with its many cafes and restaurants. Visit Barrio Santa Cruz for a taste of authentic local culture and if you love everything sailing-related don't miss the Volvo Ocean Race Museum.

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

What does it mean?
