Santa Maria Manuela:
Lisbon (PT) - Cadiz (ES) - Malaga (ES)

02 April - 09 April 2023

This 430 nm coastal voyage will take you from Lisbon, to Andalusia’s bustling coastal city of Malaga via the ancient Spanish city of Cadiz. This 7 night voyage is a great opportunity to gain sailing experience on a Tall Ship and explore 3 of the Iberian Peninsula’s most fascinating coastal cities. There´s nothing the crew like more than to share their knowledge of sailing with their guests, and they will encourage you to get actively involved with all aspects of the ship’s life. Volunteers to hoist the gaff tops and trim the sails are always welcome, and the feeling of helming a 67m sailing ship with the sensation as she responds to the command of the wheel is something to savour forever. Knot classes are a great way to learn a new skill whilst sharing sailing stories with shipmates, and if the weather allows there’s the opportunity to go up the mast or relax in the bowsprit netting. A drink at sunset on the deck is the perfect way to round off each day.
For Windseekers aged 14-80 years (trainees younger than 18 have to be accompanied by an adult).

Ports

Lisbon has a long and varied history as a major trading hub, much of which is still visible in the old city centre. Discover Alfama, the old quarters with its many old alleys, steps and the Lisbon Cathedral. The famous tram line 28 will get you there – an experience in and of itself. And be sure to check out a fado concert if you want to learn about saudade – loss, yearning and comfort, all rolled into one. Emotions that all seafarers will get to know one way or the other…

Malaga is a town on the famous Costa del Sol in Spain. Founded in 8th century BC it is full of history and architectural gems. It's also famous for being a birthplace of Pablo Picasso. Climb up to Castillo de Gibralfaro for a taste of the history and a great view of the city, cool down in the Parque de Málaga and, of course, don't forget the Picasso Museum!

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
