Funchal is the capital of the Portugese Madeira Autonomous Region in the Atlantic. Sal is one of the windward islands of the Cape Verde archipelago in the Atlantic. It was named because of the salt activities on the island, dating back to the 1800s. Visit the Praia de Santa Maria beach for a relaxing day under the sun, the natural landmark Olho Azul or spend your day discovering the Pedra Lume Salt Crater.
