Kapitan Borchardt:
Klaipéda (LT) - Szczecin (PL)

31 July - 08 August 2017

NO PLACES AVAILABLE ANYMORE – The Tall Ships Races 2017 – Race 3. The third and final race takes us from Klaipeda to Szczecin. The city of Szczecin was the final port for The Tall Ships Races 2007 and 2013 series of the prestigious regatta. Some of the biggest and most beautiful Tall Ships from around the world attracted around 2 million visitors to the harbour during each event. The Chrobry Embankments become even more magical and the walk along the Odra River among dozens of beautiful ships makes you feel like in a different world. In Szczecin you can join the activities organised for all the trainees and join the crewparade and crewparty! For all Windseekers, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Klaipéda is a city in Lithuania on the Baltic Sea coast. The city has many maritime traditions - it even hosts its own Sea Festival in July! - and its architecture bears influences from several different cultures (French, German, Swedish). Take a walk down the Friedricho pasažas, visit the reconstructed Meridianas ship, find the quirky Golden Mouse sculpture and visit the Clock Museum.

Szczecin in North-Western Poland has a deep commitment to sail training. Discover the Underground City Trails: a network of bunkers from WWII with their unique atmosphere. If you're more of an outdorsy type, take a canoe along the Odra river or explore Bukowe Hills which hide the ruins of old bridges and are home to numerous boars and deer. Visit one of many museums or the Castle of Pomeranian Dukes or the beautiful rose gardens.
