Black Diamond of Durham:
Harlingen (NL) - Hartlepool (GB)

05 August - 11 August 2018

Coming home. After the excitement of the Tall Ships Races the Black Diamond of Durham will make her way back towards her homeport in Hartlepool. Join this voyage for some more laid-back sailing, with no scheduled ports along the way. There’s no itinerary except for the destination, which means that you can sail where the winds take you, stopping in a ports somewhere – or maybe dropping an anchor? For Windseekers age 16-25 years only.

Ports

Harlingen is a historic trade and fishing port in Friesland, the Netherlands, with roots going back over a thousand years. Its charming old town features well-preserved streets and buildings, perfect for exploring on foot. Despite its small size, Harlingen has a lively atmosphere and was a proud port of call for the Tall Ships Races in 2022. With its gezellig pubs and welcoming vibe, Harlingen is an ideal stopover for any traveler.

Hartlepool is a British port on the east coast of the UK, with long traditions of maritime activity. In 2010, the town played host to the Tall Ships Races, receiving some 125 Tall Ships in its harbor. Once you’re there, visit the nearby North York Moors national park, or relive the heyday of the British navy at the Maritime Experience. If you have come to like climbing the masts on board, there is a boulder park in Summerhill where you can reach for the top again!
