Bergen (NO) - Esbjerg (DK)

15 July - 18 July 2018

Help bring the majestic Statsraad Lehmkuhl from her homeport in Bergen, Norway, to the Tall Ships Races port in Esbjerg, Denmark. This short trip is perfect if you want to get a taste of Sail Training without committing too much time and money. You will disembark in Esbjerg just as the port prepares to host dozens of other Tall Ships, small Ships and Yachts for the event. Open to Windseekers aged 15 and older, 12-15 on request. It’s possible to sleep an extra night on board after your journey. Price € 60 p.p.p.n. including breakfast.

Ports

Bergen is the gateway to the Fjords of Norway and a well-established cruise port. It’s an international city packed with history and tradition, a big city with small-town charm and atmosphere. Stroll around old streets and alleyways, and mingle with the crowds at the Fish Market. Saunter along the listed wooden buildings at Bryggen to the old fortress at Bergenhus, or call in at one of Bergen’s museums and galleries. The panoramic views of the city, the fjord and the ocean are breathtaking.

Esbjerg is a beautiful coastal city in the South-West of Denmark, with the second biggest harbour in Denmark – a lively place full of fishing and shipping activities. You can observe the town’s maritime history in its attractions: from the Fisheries- and Maritime Museum, Esbjerg Skibet statue to the Men at Sea monument, everything brings you back to the sea. Visit also the Ribe Vikinge Center, a fun outdoor museum where you will meet the Vikings themselves!
