Eendracht:
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ES) - Sal (CV)

26 November - 04 December 2022

Exchange the late autumn cold and the rain for the sailing trip from Canary Islands to Cape Verde. Guaranteed wind and pleasant temperatures, a paradise for sailors. Immerse yourself in the beautiful nature, relax on the beach or take a dip in the intense blue sea. There is so much to see and discover on Cape Verde! The varied landscape is known for its black volcano slopes, sandy beaches and an intense blue ocean, filled with wildlife. For the last 3 days of the trip you will visit different islands. During these days you are free to make your own plan. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in the villages, admire the impressive landscapes, or immerse yourself in the rich history or cross the desert on a quad bike – there is something for everyone! Open to Windseekers aged 15-80.

Ports

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a cosmopolitan town, the shared capital (with Santa Cruz) of the Canary Islands. Situated on the ‘wet’ north side, the city feels more authentic than the touristy places on the ‘dry’ south side. Las Palmas offers beaches, cheap shopping, culture and excitement with a night life, primarily in the district of Vegueta. Its culture is decidedly Spanish, mixed with influences from all over the world, as Las Palmas’ port has been in operation for centuries.

Sal is one of the three sandy eastern islands of the Cape Verde archipelago, together with Boa Vista and Maio. The island is a dream destination for windsurfing enthusiasts, due to its sandy beaches and persistent winds. Tourism is on the rise in Cape Verde, but outside of the beach resort of Santa Maria the island retains its relaxed feel. Explore the quiet streets with their brightly colored houses, the blue eye cave, and the saline flats. The sun shines 350 days a year, so bring sunscreen!

STO Garant

This Journey is covered by the STO Garant guarantee. You can find the conditions for this guarantee scheme on STO Garant’s website (www.sto-garant.nl/en/downloads).

This process is automatic and you do not need to do anything else. After receiving your booking, Windseeker will send you detailed information on how and when to pay for your journey – together with all the other important details.

What does it mean?

In short: you do not pay the booking amount to Windseeker but instead into an escrow account. This trust account holds your payment in reserve until your journey’s end. The booking amount is then released to Windseeker on the day after your trip ends. If Windseeker or the Ship should become financially insolvent before the end of your trip, STO Garant will implement the guarantee. The Guarantee Scheme details how you can make a claim under the guarantee in such cases. You can read more about this here.
