Anne-Margaretha:
Horta (PT) - La Coruna (ES)

03 July - 16 July 2015

Join the Anne-Margaretha for a Journey from Horta, the Azores (PT) to Spain and cross the ocean for 1100 sea miles. Enjoy the endless horizon, the open ocean, and the warm atmosphere on board this beautiful adventurous yacht. Seize the opportunity to learn all about ocean sailing, and learn all you can from the helpful crew. Work together as a team, hoisting the sails and doing sailing manoeuvres to make Anne-Margaretha perform her best. Feel the wind on your face, learn how to read the weather, and pick up the finer points of ocean navigation on this epic journey that will take you to the European mainland. Especially suited to Windseekers who like an adventurous Journey, but don’t mind a bit of sun and balmy temperatures. Open to all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Horta is situated in the western part of the Archipelago of the Azores on the island of Faial. The marina is a primary stop for yachts crossing the Atlantic. Its walls and walkways are covered in paintings created by the crews of visiting ships. Peter's Cafe Sport, located across from the marina, houses the island's scrimshaw museum. A collection of artefacts carved from whale tooth and jawbone. This café is a point of reference for trans-Atlantic yachtsmen and sailors.

La Coruña is a port town in the north west of Spain. Here you will find the Tower of Hercules, a lighthouse that has been in operation for 1800 years! The town itself is an affluent commercial and tourism hub, with plenty of things to see and do. Visit the popular beaches, explore the city centre, or sample some of the many cultural activities. The Aquarium Finisterrae lets you explore the marine life of the region. But if you prefer your fish on a plate, la Coruña’s restaurants can help you out
