Explore the stunning eastern Finnish archipelago on board Astrid, visiting stunning locations along the way. Learn to sail: navigate, steer a ship, trim the sails and keep watch. Actively participate in life on board and become a part of Astrid’s sailing family by joining all activities, from cleaning to preparing meals. Sail every day and possibly anchor or moor alongside the rocks for a refreshiing swim, and an adventure into the wild.
Open to all trainees aged 15-30, older trainees – at request.
Not all meals are available on departure and arrival days, as well as on port days, so everyone is responsible for the excluded meals at their own expense.

Ports

Helsinki is the capital city of Finland with a population of about 600,000 people. It has been established in 1550. Take a ferry to visit the Fortress of Suomenlinna or the Seurasaari Island and Open-Air Museum. If you prefer to stay on the mainland you can’t miss the Rock Church – literally built into rocks. Other attractions include the Esplanadi Park, Hakaniemi Market and lots of museum. Fans of architecture cannot miss the Finnish National Theater and the Lutheran Chathedral.

What does it mean?
