Bilbao (ES) - Gijón (ES)

18 April - 22 April 2019

Join Atyla for the long weekend on board during Easter break. Step on board in Bilbao and sail west towards Gijón, the biggest city in the region of Asturias. But you cannot visit Asturias without getting a taste of its remarkable cuisine! Together with your shipmakes you will have the chance to visit the Gijon and enjoy a delicious buffet dinner at a traditional cider restaurant. You can disembark on the afternoon of the 21st or, if you have the time, spend one more night on board and say goodbye the following morning. Open to all Windseekers, minumum age 15 years. The price includes buffet dinner and city tour in Gijón.

Ports

Bilbao is a port in the northern tip of the Iberian peninsula, founded in the 14th century. Later on it became an important commercial hub for the Basque region. Today, Bilbao is a vigorous service city. The iconic Bilbao Guggenheim museum is a must-see. Also take some time to walk around the city centre and visit the Exteberria Park. Around the city you can do many outdoor activities such as rock climbing, hiking and surfing.

Gijón is the largest city of Spain’s Asturias region, located on the Bay of Biscay. Visit the picturesque San Lorenzo beach for beautiful views – or perhaps you will want to try your hand at surfing? Taste local cheeses and seafood in one of the many restaurants. If you feel like stretching your legs after being on board, Gijón offers great hiking opportunities. And if you like architecture, you can’t miss the magnificent La Laboral University campus and its tower viewpoint.
