Atyla:
Delfzijl (NL) - Antwerp (BE)

02 July - 09 July 2016

* Places at request* The voyage goes from the little charming town of Delfzijl in North of the Netherlands where there will be a Sail-event. Afterwards you will cross the Northsea and sail to Antwerp, one of the biggest and busiest harbors on the world. Open to all ages, minimum age 15 years.

Ports

Delfzijl means 'sluice of the Delf'. The Delf was a canal connecting the rivers Fivel and Ems, and is now part of the Damsterdiep. The city lies in the northeast of the Netherlands, in the province Groningen. Natural gas, petroleum fields, aluminium plant, large salt production, wind mills for electricity and fishing. This is an industrial place. Step on the dike to look out over the water and feel the sea breeze. Visit Groningen by train, the province capital, with musea, cafés and shopping.

This city in Belgium is the capital of Antwerp province. With a population of 510,610 it is the most populous city in Belgium. Its metropolitan area houses around 1,200,000 people. Antwerp is on the River Scheldt, linked to the North Sea by the Westerschelde estuary. The Port of Antwerp is one of the biggest in the world, ranking third in Europe and within the top 20 globally. There is a theory about the name Antwerp: "The wharf where ships berth".
