Atyla:
Kiel (DE) - Aalborg (DK)

30 June - 05 July 2019

To the Tall Ships Races. Join the Atyla in Kiel, at the end of the famous Kieler Woche sailing festival. You will have the chance to see the other vessels before you embark on a journey to Denmark. Spend 2 days out on the sea, learning to set the sails, steer and navigate. Finally you will reach Aalborg, where the Tall Ships Races 2019 will start. There you will show the ship to the visitors and share your experience with them. You will also have the time to enjoy the Crew Party, Crew Parade, fireworks, and spending time with your new friends. If you have the time, join the earlier journey as well for a special price – see the voyage Scheveningen-Kiel-Aalborg. Open to all Windseekers, minumum age 15 years.

Ports

Kiel is a German port town on the Baltic coast, widely known for its yearly ‘Kiel week’ – the biggest yearly regatta in the world! Many thousands of boats and ships of all kinds and eras take part in the parade. Kiel Week is also a festival, Volksfest and fair as well as a maritime event. But Kiel offers more: a slew of museums (zoological, geological, historical, fine art, industrial, and military museums), a city centre with relaxed atmosphere, and the water and shores of the Kieler Fjord.

Aalborg has shared a special connection with The Tall Ships Races since first hosting the event in 1999. Located on the Limfjord, the city was founded by Vikings over a thousand years ago and still proudly showcases its historic roots. Today, Aalborg is a modern, vibrant city with a rich cultural scene – home to theatres, a symphony orchestra, museums, and performance venues. It’s the perfect place to relax and reflect after an unforgettable sailing adventure.
